Thereʻs a hurricane just passing south of the Hawaiian Islands. Tails of rain clouds have saturated our islands. Itʻs a soggy, summer day which means there is no better time for a Tulsi (Holy) Basil Chai!
Holy basil has been shown to boost your body's health in a variety of ways. It can help protect against infection, lower your blood sugar, lower your cholesterol, ease joint pain, and protect your stomach.
Recipe:
Chai Tea (Makes 4 Cups)
- 10 Tulsi Basil Leaves
Instructions
-
Put the ginger, 1 tbsp each sugar or honey, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and water into a small saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes.
-
Remove from heat and add the tea bags, Tulsi Basil & peppercorn. Steep for 10 minutes.
-
Scoop the ginger and cinnamon out of the tea and add a milk option (I prefer Oat Milk). Taste and add more honey/sugar if desired. Warm on the stove and serve.
